FAQ
How safe is it?

Commercial diving equipment is extremely safe. It is used by thousands of divers
every day in oil fields around the world to depths of 300 meters in
extreme conditions. It has an incident free track record. There are at least
two independent air supplies. Your equipment undergoes the same maintenance
as it would get offshore.
How much diving experience do I need?
Any one who has safely and confidently performed open water dives will be happy
in this equipment
What equipment will I wear/use?

You will be wearing exactly what commercial divers wear to go to work. A wet
suit if it is cold, coveralls, boots, (no fins), a diving harness, emergency
bail out cylinder and a Kirby Morgan ‘Superlite’ helmet with a hat
mounted video camera. Your unbreakable umbilical will have your air supply,
your ‘comms’ cable, camera + light cable and a ‘Pneumo’
hose for accurately measuring your depth. The Supervisor controls everything
from the surface through his panel. He sees what you see via his TV monitors
and can talk to you with the diving radio in your helmet
Who is in control of my dive?
Your diving supervisor will be a commercial oilfield diver and supervisor and
will have performed hundreds of working dives with this equipment under the
most demanding conditions. He will be highly experienced and knowledgeable
How clear is the diving radio (Comms)?
The comms are perfectly clear with no distortion. Everything you say will be
recorded perfectly onto your DVD
Is it suitable for all ages?
Yes, but we have set the minimum age at 15 years of age.
What limitations are there?
There are no limitations with this equipment, but we restrict our dives to
shallow water of around 10 metres to avoid any decompression issues.
Where is the air supplied from?
Your air is supplied to you through your umbilical from a low pressure compressor.
We also have HP cylinder banks as a back up supply.
When do I receive the DVD of my dive?
You will receive it immediately after you have completed your dive. You will
enjoy a clear sharp picture and sound whenever you play it. The supervisor will
also sign and stamp your log book and you will receive a ‘Deep Six’
sticker.
What do I do on my dive?
You will be given a simple task to do so that you can experience how it feels
to perform a working dive in this equipment. Can your group beat the time of
all the other groups to assemble the pipeline and get the oil-field back online??
